The good old days

This week i've been sorting out all of my old pictures and school memories. I have about three or four small boxes of stuff that was just sitting in the closet, mostly pictures and cards. I think I'm going to scan the pictures and important cards/notes and store them online through the Google server thingy so I don't have to worry about storing everything on a hard drive that could break and I won't have all of this extra clutter in the closet anymore...its not really the physical
item that matters anyway, just the memories they bring back, and here are some good ones...

Yes, this is Marie Welker. Good job Marie!

Not sure why I have two, maybe this is why Ms. Scott gave me the book to keep.

This is Bernard, from Tempe High as is Bernard and Terrance who used to rap at the assemblies.

I don't remember Bobby, but this one was just funny.

Then I got a good laugh at some later work...

Last Weekend

Last weekend I planted a few flower in a small space on the fromt patio...hopefully I can keep them alive!

We then proceeded to go to Chandler's 4th Birthday party, or as Maddie called it, a Fiesta!

They both took a light tap on the pinata...

Mals new baby Cason...4 mo and overweight.

On Saunday we were at Daley park all day hanging out with the fam.

Thanks Dus for finding Mad's awesome cowboy boots at goodwill!
Maddie liked the train tracks of course.

I finally finished the bathroom last week, but it needs touch ups. I painted it a simple white to make it feel bigger, lighter, airy, and calmer.

I think how we had it before was driving me crazy...it made the bathroom seemed cramped and it was not relaxing.

Rainy Days

After a busy weekend and many homework assignments, it's time to enjoy this rainy day!
I spent all day yesterday writing a paper about Hans Wegner, a Danish designer who created over 400 chairs (you would probably recognize some of them). It's amazing how much work goes into a chair.

We planted tons of flowers in one of the front yard beds but I should have foreseen this disaster...the rain washed away the soil and probably the seeds in the middle :( Hopefully something will grow anyways.

At least there are sunflowers coming up in the other bed..seeds that fell from last summer, I didn't replant them.

And I know for sure this barrel cactus, the only plant that came with this house, will not die, even with me taking care of it!

I'm trying to keep these herbs alive but things are not looking good.

Nathan put up a metal rabbit fence this weekend so that Abby can't get through our homemade fence anymore. Mainly so that we could install a hose for the garden so she wouldn't chew it to pieces.

He also had to install a water line back here just for the hose. This is turning out to be a lot of work, but I know it will be worth it.

As you can see, we still have lots of weeding, tilling, and planting to do! (and we should also throw away that ugly satellite that the previous owners left on our roof...)

We can't leave anything out in the yard or it will look like this in ten minutes.

Spring is here...and will be gone in 3 days...

Finished my dish towels (4 of them) but converted them to "tea towels" since I used the wrong fabric (linen instead of cotton). I don't really know what tea towels are for but they are made from linen and I have them. Maybe I will pick up cotton from SAS and make something of what I really need.

Probably my best stitching yet...first time I've actually made a straight line after a year of learning!

Marie came over and jept me company on Monday (My Birthday). She helped me work in the garden for a little bit, here's her handiwork! Thanks Marie for giving me an awesome Bday!

She also made me this vegan chocolate pie!!! It was, in Madeleine's words, "SO YUMMY!" And I could not tell at all that it was super healthy and made from tofu!

Nathan finished his work on the vanity last Friday. Here is the before...

Ew.

and the after!

Lots of work to do...I better get on it and stop posting random pics!!!

Whiskey

Yesterday Nathan took me out for a B day surprise! We went horseback riding at the OK corral near superstition springs. It was fun although my bottom is insanely sore from just a two hour ride...technically it wasn't really a surprise because when we went to drop the kids off at my mom's she said to Nathan, "why didn't you tell her to wear her boots?" and immediately I said oh yeah, we're going horseback riding. That might have been a good thing though because then we had time to stop home and get boots, hat, and sunscreen.

My ride, Whiskey.

Perfect weather for riding. Beautiful scenery too, the desert was very green from all the rain!

Nathan's first time riding, last in the line up! Thank you my love!!!!
