knit scarf

Today I made a scarf...because it's so cold out right?

Actually I've had this scrap fabric for a while and only had enough to make a scarf.

Clutch. I don't like the colors I chose(too grandma-y) and the construction is a bit sloppy, but this was a good learning experience. Next one I make will be pretty and I know what I'm doing so it will be much better, and I want to include a zipper so I can actually use it! I think I'll use this as a makeup bag or something.

TREES!!

Our trees came this morning. About 10 Mexicans ran from hole to hole and installed these bad boys in about 15 min.
(okay, obviously we're going to move the two pines, we just haven't gotten around to it yet)

Put our Lemon next to Orange

These one in the back are HUGE! It makes me so happy! Like instant gratification for trees. It's worth the money. Now we just need to really clean up and plant crap in the rest of the yard..and grass.

Little nectarine tree by the garden already has fruit on it!

I like pretty plants. Can't wait for these trees to get giant!

Trees

Acacia Willow

Ficus (these are the huge shady trees by the duck pond behind sweet tomatoes)

AZ Ash

On Saturday we bought some trees!!!!!!! This will be the best investment for our house so far! And make the backyard pretty and not a barren wasteland! They are getting delivered and planted next week and I'm excited woo woo!

We got 6 trees total-
1 Arizona Ash
1 Acacia Willow
2 Ficus
1 Nectarine
1 Lemon

I got some pictures off of the Moon Valley website of what our trees will look like in 20 years...ha! Actually they are already medium sized trees and all of them are fast growers (except for the lemon). So hopefully in 5 years we will have some decent sized trees that actually provide shade! The nectarine tree is already producing fruit too! We were planning on getting an orange tree but they grow so slow we though it would be better to just nurse the one we have back to health.

Trees 4 life yo.

Flag

I drove up to flag by myself last weekend. Never have I seen AZ so green, or maybe I just havn't ever been in the spring. It was pretty.

This is Lindsays new house, it's really old, pretty, and right in the downtown area. Even though she doesn't have a room she only pays $200. I was very jealous!

She made us an artichoke/ricotta/lots of other stuff pizza on sat

We did some walking around and lots of hanging out at Mia's, the bar where she works. It was good to see lots of old friends and I had a great weekend! Just doing the drive by myself and having the time to think was a good break from two little people..

The best thing ever

these people are the best thing ever

and so is this...

found an awesome bread machine at goodwill on Sunday. It was $10 but it happen to be 50% off which I was not aware of until I paid, so I got it for $5!!!

Yesterday I made this bread and we ate it in 5 min flat. So I made another one just now...

It smells soooooo gooood. and tastes good too (what. this is totally raw)!

I slathered on some jam and I'm already on my second piece....I'd better take it easy.

But the best part is that it is super cheap to make this fresh bread...like 60 cents or something I don't remember exactly. A loaf from the store is almost $4...so...I win!!!!
